Add an Azure Synapse DataFlow connection
You can add a connection to an Azure Synapse database using ThoughtSpot DataFlow.
To add a new connection to Azure Synapse, follow these steps:

Click Connections in the top navigation bar.

In the Connections interface, click Add connection in the top right corner.

In the Create Connection interface, select the Connection type.

After you select the Azure Synapse Connection type, the rest of the connection properties appear.

- Connection name

Name your connection.
- Connection type

Choose the Azure Synapse connection type.
- Host

Specify the name of the server.
- Port

Specify the connection port for Azure Synapse.
- Authentication type

Specifies the type of security protocol to connect to the instance. Based on the type of security, select the authentication type and provide details.
- User

Specify the user who connects to Azure Synapse. This user must have data access privileges.
- Password

Specify the password.
- JDBC options

Specify JDBC URL for connecting to Azure Synapse, and the necessary options.
- Database
-
Specify Database details like name, alias name, schema.
- JDBC options

Specify the options associated with the JDBC URL.

Click Create connection.
