RHEL and OEL Deployment

Run ThoughtSpot on your own internally managed RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.8, 7.9, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, or 8.5 image, or on an Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) 7.9 image.

You have the flexibility to run ThoughtSpot on an RHEL 7.8, 7.9, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, or 8.5 image or an OEL 7.9 image that your organization manages internally. This enables your organization to manage the OS and perform SysAdmin tasks.

ThoughtSpot certifies RHEL 7.8 and 7.9 on the following platforms:

ThoughtSpot certifies RHEL 8.4, 8.5, and 8.6 on the following platforms:

ThoughtSpot does not certify RHEL 8 versions on Microsoft Azure, GCP, SMC, or Dell.

ThoughtSpot certifies OEL 7.9 on the following platforms:

ThoughtSpot does not certify OEL on Microsoft Azure, SMC, or Dell.

Follow these steps to deploy ThoughtSpot through RHEL or OEL:

Step 1. Complete installation prerequisites

Step 2. Get ThoughtSpot artifacts

Step 3. Install ThoughtSpot with one of the following methods:

Install ThoughtSpot in RHEL or OEL online clusters

where the hosts can connect to the public repositories to download the required packages.

Install ThoughtSpot in RHEL or OEL offline clusters

where the hosts cannot connect to the public repositories to download the required packages.

Step 4. Upgrade ThoughtSpot for RHEL or OEL to a new release

Step 5. Add a new node to an existing ThoughtSpot cluster in RHEL or OEL

Step 6. Check Packages installed with ThoughtSpot for RHEL and OEL, to see what additional 3rd-party Yum, python, and R packages your ThoughtSpot installation includes by default.
